Board of Selectmen

Pat Del Monaco (D) for First Selectman

Khris Hall (D) for Selectman

Under Pat and Khris’s leadership, New Fairfield received grants for long ignored projects, built two new schools, preserved the small town character of our community and kept taxes low. Now it’s time to put them back in office and get things done again.

The current Republican-controlled BOF defied public opinion and tried to underfund both schools and public safety. Their mismanagement of the medical reserve contributed to the largest tax increase in 25 years. It’s time to restore relevant experience and competent leadership! We want to restore the BOF to be collaborative, reasonable, and above all else dedicated to serving the town. When elected we will work on a bipartisan basis to:

Create a working culture that is responsive, communicative, and transparent
Develop budgets that keep costs down while focusing on the town’s most important needs
Include both short- and long-term planning when making binding financial decisions

Ensure that our educational programs are fully funded and support the success of all students in a changing environment

Continue to focus on programs for special needs students in the district

Implement our newly approved zoning regulations in a way that addresses current issues, protects our local wetlands and natural resources, and preserves our small-town feel
End the protracted debate about the location of the school bus lot
Govern in a consistent, equitable, and even-handed way meant to better our community
